u:book verabschiedet sich
Vielen Dank für eure Treue und 18 gemeinsame Jahre!
Das u:book-Service wird mit Jänner 2026 eingestellt. Es finden keine weiteren Verkaufsfenster mehr statt. Eine sorgfältige Analyse hat gezeigt, dass sich die Rahmenbedingungen in den vergangenen Jahren deutlich verändert haben. Viele Hardwarehersteller und -händler bieten mittlerweile eigene attraktive Bildungsrabatte an. Studierende und Mitarbeiter*innen von tertiären Bildungseinrichtungen haben dadurch auch ohne eine Initiative wie u:book verlässlich Zugang zu besonders vergünstigter Hardware. Der ursprüngliche Mehrwert von u:book ist daher in dieser Form nicht mehr gegeben.
Die Universität Wien bedankt sich herzlich bei allen Nutzer*innen und Partner*innen von u:book für 18 Jahre Vertrauen und Treue.
Um unsere Nutzer*innen in der Übergangsphase bestmöglich zu unterstützen, wird auf der u:book-Webseite eine Übersicht alternativer Hardwareangebote bereitgestellt.
Über u:book
2008 gegründet, bot u:book die Möglichkeit, zweimal jährlich in 4-wöchigen Verkaufsfenstern Laptops, Convertibles und Tablets zu erwerben. Das Service richtete sich an alle österreichischen Bildungseinrichtungen und deren Angehörige.

Thank you for your loyalty and 18 years together!
The u:book service will be discontinued in January 2026. There will be no further sales periods. A careful analysis has shown that the framework conditions have changed significantly in recent years. Many hardware manufacturers and retailers now offer their own attractive educational discounts. This gives students and employees at tertiary educational institutions reliable access to particularly discounted hardware, even without an initiative such as u:book. The original added value of u:book is therefore no longer available in this form.
The University of Vienna would like to express its sincere thanks to all u:book users and partners for 18 years of trust and loyalty.

About u:book
Founded in 2008, u:book offered the opportunity to purchase laptops, convertibles and tablets twice a year in 4-week sales periods. The service was aimed at all Austrian educational institutions and their members.
