Activating and setting up multi-factor authentication
Short overview
A one-time password (OTP) is required as a second, additional factor to the UNIGRAZonline password. This password can be generated via an app of your choice on your smartphone.
The following free apps can be used to generate the one-time password:
- Google Playstore: GoogleAuthenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, privacyIDEA Authenticator or FreeOTP
- Apple Store: GoogleAuthenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, privacyIDEA Authenticator or FreeOTP
The use of other apps is not recommended, both in terms of technical functionality and privacy protection.
To activate the required multifactor authentication visit the website https://mfa-setup.uni-graz.at/ within Austria (currently only available in German).
